Field Day

For Kid Zone one of my duties is to come up with a "club" that I run once a week with a group of kids. We need to come up with a theme, tools/equipment we need, and lesson plan. I have thought about doing a cooking club, where each week we make a nutritious snack. I thought about doing a music club, but couldnt' think of anything to teach the kids or have them particpate in maybe other than karaoke.

I have come up with a theme that I think may work. I am thinking of doing a Field Day club. During the club I will have different competitions set up that the kids can go against each other. I am thinking about having a basketball shooting contest, having a balancing contest, a hula hoop contest, etc... I am not 100% sure with the club, but i think that it will be fun for the kids. My concern though is that when it gets too hot outside the kids won't want to participate because it will be too uncomfortable to be outside.
